  • REFURBISHED COMPUTERS PER YEAR 2% 2%
  • TOXIC WASTE IN LANDFILLS 70% 70%

Source: United States Environmental Protection Agency

  • The U.S. currently dumps between 300-400 million electronic items per year, yet only 12.5% of that e-waste is actually recycled.
  • If we recycled a million cell phones, it would reduce greenhouse gas emissions equal to taking 1,368 cars off the road for a year.
  • Despite the benefits, only about 2% of PCs find their way to a second user.
  • Although e-waste doesn’t make up the majority of America’s trash in landfills, it still equals 70% of overall toxic waste.
